To our AlterWork Studios community…

In 2017, AlterWork Studios opened its doors on 35th avenue with the mission to be a major resource for contemporary artists. Over the last seven years, we have been able to help artists  create new work and advance their careers by offering them access to affordable workspace, tools, classes, workshops, and public exposure. We extend our greatest thanks to all of the supporters that have helped make furthering our mission possible. 

With furthering our mission in mind, we are excited to announce that in October of 2024, AlterWork Studios will be expanding to a facility located at 40-20 22nd street, Long Island City, NY 11101. The 8,000 square foot communal space will feature bigger and better versions of our current amenities; ceramic workroom for wheel throwing/sculpture/hand-building, 2D workroom for painters/fiber artists/mixed media, fully-equipped woodshop, black and white and color multi-station darkroom, and a gallery for exhibitions and performances.

If you are currently enrolled in a pottery class with us…

don’t worry, the new space will not affect your class registration. We will be keeping our 35th Avenue location for classes and workshops until further notice. Your class will begin/continue at 30-09 35th Ave as scheduled.
