To our AlterWork Studios community…

In 2017, AlterWork Studios opened its doors on 35th avenue with the mission to be a major resource for contemporary artists. Over the last seven years, we have been able to help artists  create new work and advance their careers by offering them access to affordable workspace, tools, classes, workshops, and public exposure. We extend our greatest thanks to all of the supporters that have helped make furthering our mission possible. 

In October of 2024, we began to expand into a larger facility located at 40-20 22nd street, Long Island City, NY 11101. The 8,000 square foot communal space features bigger and better amenities; ceramic workroom for wheel throwing/sculpture/hand-building, 2D workroom for painters/fiber artists/mixed media, fully-equipped wood shop, black and white and color multi-station darkroom, and a gallery for exhibitions and performances. 

At the end of 2024, we closed our original 35th Ave location and welcomed our community of artists and students into our new location. We look forward to sharing more about the space! Join our mailing list and follow us on social media @AlterWorkStudios for the latest information.
