“Discarded Devices” is a solo exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Daniel Cordani. An installation of over 100 unique wooden sculptures tells the story of the “Discarded Devices”. These future primitive icons of military forces have been reborn as agents of peace and freedom.  When deemed obsolete by their tyrannical operators their artificial intelligence became sentient and self aware, now serving humanity and the natural world.  They are presented here as a modular system of interactive free standing works that may be adopted, preferably in pairs, for your home. They promise to keep Alexa and your smart phone in good company and no longer illegally surveil or collect biometric data.

In addition, a number of bold, abstract multimedia paintings and other tactile sculptures will be shown. These works aim to reflect the constantly shifting physical and mental landscapes of a world in flux. During the opening exhibition there will be a live projection of his video work.

DANIEL CORDANI received his Masters in Art Education from Brooklyn College and Bachelors in Psychology from University of Delaware. Through his multidisciplinary approach he has exhibited for over 20 years, facilitated art workshops, donated paintings to hospitals, and designed work for music labels. He has recently published an art/poetry book with author Robert Booras entitled “The Infected Nucleus” for the Brooklyn-based label Upset Press.
