In Do you see what I see? Ceramic artist and Queens native, Stella Psillides, invites you to experience the views and observations as seen on her walkabouts throughout the city. The exhibition features Majolica as well as structural works such as water towers and trash sculptures - moments the artist reimagines and depicts in miniature scale and painted cityscapes.
Stella finds appeal in the everyday objects that are all around us but often go unnoticed - she beckons one to slow down and take notice. Her works give the viewer a glimpse of all of the things people can see if they simply take the time to look around, up, through alleyways, and down the cracks of their own city walkabouts.
STELLA PSILLIDES is a NYC based, Queens raised potter. She simply likes playing with clay and enjoys working on the wheel as well as handbuilding. She takes inspiration from the world around her, especially the neighborhood. Stella’s work is playful and gritty and her style has a fun, functional aesthetic. She mostly makes functional pieces that she hopes bring joy to the people that use them.
